Arcane Season 2 has dropped its act 3. The animated series resumes the deadly adventures of Vi and Jinx amidst the unrest between Piltover and Zaun. The finale episode left fans with a series of questions, particularly the fate of the eccentric scientist Cecil B. Heimerdinger. So, what happened to Heimerdinger, and did he die in Arcane Season 2?

Did Heimerdinger die in Arcane Season 2?
Heimerdinger’s death is not confirmed in Arcane Season 2.
As seen in the previous episode, Heimerdinger and Ekko were stuck in an alternative reality. They realized that in that universe the oppressed Zaun was a utopian city while the magical technology Hextech did not exist. With the helpful technology missing, the duo decide to go for their own invention to return to reality. They eventually created their own short-time machine called Z-Drive. Further, Heirmerdinger starts working on upgrading the machine.
At last, the duo is all set to return home but a shocking twist takes place. Heimerdinger reveals his plan of not returning to reality with Ekko. He decides to stay back to operate the time machine. Heimerdinger also confesses that he has truly lived ever since he met Ekko. Further, he activates the machine and vanishes in front of his partner.
Additionally, Heimerdinger’s sacrifice reflects the dangerous side of technology. In the past, Sky and a Piltover scientist lost their lives while experimenting the Hextech technology. Heimerdinger met a similar following his and Ekko’s experiments on the arcane forces. While he lived for almost 300 years as a yordle, Heimerdinger was made to sacrifice for his students.
On the other hand, many believe that Heimerdinger is still alive. It is possible he was transported to an alternative reality similar to his first entry in the anomaly. The makers of Arcane have left it to the viewers to figure out the fate of the character.
