List of iOS 18.2 features and changes in beta 4

The following features and changes have been added to the iOS 18.2 beta 4 update. The beta version gives a preview of the features that are currently being tested and fine-tuned for the eventual public launch of iOS 18.2.

  • The ‘Camera Control’ settings in Apple’s Accessibility menu for iPhones have now been incorporated into a new submenu within the main ‘Camera Control’ settings.
  • While scrubbing on videos on the Photos application, the timestamps now show milliseconds.
  • The profile picture icons in the Mail app are considerably smaller than what was found in the Mail app in the beta 3 version.
  • Users can create playful images in seconds on apps like Messages and a dedicated application called Image Playground. They can also add variety to them with options like Animation, Illustration, and Sketch.
  • Users can also create something called Genmoji by combining two emojis into one custom emoji. To this, all users need to do are:
    • Open their keyboard and click on the emoji icon
    • Select the Genmoji icon.
    • Describe the custom emoji you want to create.
    • After creating the custom emoji, it can be stored in the sticker library or sent to friends.
  • Users can also use an Image Wand to turn rough sketches into aesthetic images. On the Notes app, an empty space can be used to create an image using context from the environment.
  • ChatGPT has also been integrated. Users can avail its services to access writing tools and other essential features for better responses. This is if they feel Apple Intelligence is unsatisfactory.
  • Users can now create language expansions.

Additionally, on the iOS 18.2 beta 4 update, iPhone 16 users can access a feature called Visual Intelligence. This feature, similar to Google Lens, allows users to learn more about an item they photograph using the Camera Control.
