Florence Pugh Has Been Diagnosed With PCOS & Endometriosis

Florence Pugh recently spoke about how she has been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Endometriosis. However, she has consulted a doctor and found measures in her best interest. She also revealed that she has gone through a procedure to avoid any fertility issues in the future. Here’s what Pugh said about her reproductive health diagnosis.

Florence Pugh talks about her health issues

Pugh recently appeared on Dear Media’s SHE MD podcast‘s November 19 episode, discussing her recent reproductive diagnosis. She revealed that she met Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and discovered that she has PCOS and endometriosis. She recalled visiting the doctor and being asked initially if she had ever done an egg count. To which, she responded that she hadn’t as she was still very young.

Pugh also told Aliabadi that she had had no intentions of having a baby in the coming five years or so. So, Aliabadi quickly recommended Pugh undergo an egg-freezing procedure to avoid fertility struggles in the future.

Pugh said “It was just so bizarre because my family are baby-making machines. When mom had babies into her 40s, my gran had babies throughout. I just never assumed that I was going to be in any way different and that there was going to be an issue with it. It just really wasn’t a red flag for me.”

However, she was thankful that she learned about her diagnosis earlier and got a prompt solution for it. This is because, since childhood, she always had a dream to have kids. Later, she also quickly went through the egg-freezing procedure.

At that time, she also didn’t think that PCOS was common and didn’t worry that much about it but later learned more about and how to cope with it.

“Then of course, you find out you do and you realize you have to change your lifestyle and you have to figure out when you can be proactive and think ahead into the future, which I think for lots of young women, that’s not really necessarily what you’re thinking of doing when you’re in your 20s or even younger,” she added.
