The bruised right knee occurred on Friday during the Spurs’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. In the fourth quarter, Wembanyama collided with Lakers star Anthony Davis, which resulted in a foul. The young center briefly exited the game but returned to finish strong, contributing 28 points and 14 rebounds in the Spurs’ narrow 120-115 defeat.

Despite his efforts to play through the pain, the injury kept him out of the game against the Thunder. After the Lakers game, Wembanyama spoke about the injury, stating that he took a “big hit” but hadn’t twisted anything. The star player said, “A little beat-up right now. I took a big hit.
