Here’s everything you need to know regarding the Weeknd’s statements about the 11-time Grammy nominee.

Here’s what The Weeknd said about Lana Del Rey

The Weeknd, or Abel Tesfaye, as is his original name, recently took to X to share his thoughts on Billboard’s list of pop singers.

The acclaimed magazine is curating a ranking that features the top pop singers of the 21st Century. So far, Billboard has named a hoard of famous artists on its list, including Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber. With Drake finishing in the fourth spot, Billboard has released all its rankings except the coveted top three positions.

In reaction to the American magazine’s judgment, The Weeknd, who occupied 18th place on the list, has come out to question Billboard’s stance on Lana Del Rey. Despite being one of the most influential artists of recent times, the Summertime Sadness singer was notably missing from said rankings. As such, he wasted no time sharing his feelings about the same, posting, “Where is Lana on that Billboard’s greatest pop star list,” on his X profile.

The Weeknd’s tweet has since garnered over 73,000 likes and 16,000 reposts, with several fans echoing his sentiments regarding Lana Del Rey’s exclusion. Following his remarks, many users have also questioned Billboard’s criteria for ranking artists in their list.
