No, Tom Cavanagh Isn’t the Reverse-Flash in Superman & Lois, but Who Is He?

Tom Cavanagh recently cameoed in Superman & Lois Season 4’s latest episode, making many curious about what role he is portraying. Known for his iconic performance as Reverse-Flash and various iterations of Harrison Wells in The Flash, fans speculated he might reprise a similar role in this series. However, Tom Cavanagh’s Superman & Lois reveals a fresh take, as he steps into the shoes of another intriguing character.

Here are all the details of what he portrays in Superman & Lois.

Is Tom Cavanagh playing Harrison Wells / Reverse-Flash in Superman & Lois Season 4?

No, Cavanagh is neither playing Harrison Wells nor Reverse-Flash in Superman & Lois Season 4. Instead, he is portraying Gordon Godfrey, a TV journalist.

The eighth episode, titled “Sharp Dressed Man,” features Lex Luthor challenging Lois Lane to participate in a live television debate. He showcases his ultimate comic-accurate look and chooses to appear on a show called “Godfrey.” The show is hosted by the renowned broadcast journalist Gordan Godfrey, played by Cavanagh. Luthor invites Lois to join the debate in order to present his case to the world.

In the final moments, Lois almost nears her win by threatening Luthor with the possibility of calling her daughter on-screen to expose his wrongdoings. However, she is unable to summon her, as the debate is interrupted by the arrival of Milton, also known as Brainiac. He takes control of John Henry Irons’ suit, which unfortunately ends the debate.

Earlier this year, Cavanagh revealed at the FAN EXPO Philadelphia panel that he would guest star in the series. While he didn’t disclose his role, fans speculated he might reprise his The Flash characters. However, he chose an entirely different character, who is also deemed as one of DC’s supervillains aka Glorious Godfrey, per comics. Additionally, Cavanagh has directed two episodes of Superman & Lois, further cementing his impact on the series. (via SuperHeroHype)
