Why Fans Think the Godzilla x Kong 3 Trailer Is Real

A recently released trailer for Godzilla x Kong 3 has viewers buzzing about the future of Legendary Pictures’ ever-expanding Monsterverse. While the latest entry in the franchise, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, only hit theatres earlier this year, fans have already started gunning for a sequel. The said snippet has amassed significant viewership in less time, causing many fans to question its authenticity.

Here’s everything you need to know about the viral Godzilla x Kong 3 trailer that has been making rounds on the internet recently.

Is the Godzilla x Kong 3 trailer real or fake?

At the time of writing, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros have yet to release any promotional content for their upcoming Monsterverse flick. As such, the aforementioned video featuring Godzilla and Kong is merely a fan-made edit.

The viral Godzilla x Kong 3 trailer has actually been published by KH Studio, a YouTube channel known for developing conceptual clips for highly anticipated projects. However, little has been revealed regarding the plot details and cast of the next Monsterverse installment in recent times.

While the said Godzilla x Kong 3 trailer can easily be identified as fake, Collider has reported that a sequel to The New Empire will be released on the big screens on March 26, 2027.

Will Millie Bobby Brown return for Godzilla x Kong 3?

The creative team behind the Monsterverse movies has yet to share any official details regarding the cast of their next venture. Therefore, it is difficult to predict if Millie Bobby Brown, who was absent from 2024’s The New Empire, will reprise her role of Madison Russell in Godzilla x Kong 3.

Brown made her Monsterverse debut in 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters and quickly established her position as an essential player in the franchise. She returned for the 2021 sequel, Godzilla vs Kong, but did not return for its 2024 follow-up. In an earlier interview with Digital Spy, director Adam Wingard stated that he excluded Brown’s character from The New Empire as he believed they had completed her arc in Godzilla vs Kong. However, he also conveyed that there is room for the actress to return to the franchise in future installments.

Since then, Wingard himself has parted with the franchise. Grant Sputore has taken over the directorial reins for the untitled 2027 Godzilla x Kong project. Therefore, there is a possibility that Millie Bobby Brown will make an unexpected comeback in the next movie. Fans can expect more information on the topic in the coming months.
