Renowned tech YouTuber MKBHD has recently become the target of criticism online following a video he recently posted. In it, MKBHD, whose real name is Marques Brownlee, can be seen overspeeding in a zone where there was a set speed limit for vehicles. Since then, social media users have bashed the YouTuber for his act. Furthermore, MKBHD has issued an apology for this.
Without further ado, here are all the details of MKBHD’s video and it aftermath.
YouTuber MKBHD faces backlash for his recent video
MKBHD recently posted a video on his YouTube channel, in which he was speeding his car.
The aforementioned video is titled “How My Video Gear is Changing!.” Following its release, numerous viewers noticed that MKBHD was driving his Lamborghini at a speed of 96 mph. A sign that was noticed by the eagle-eyed viewers stated that the zone only permits a speed of 36 mph. Another sign that was pointed out in the video stated that drivers should be careful as children are present in the area. (via Dexerto)
However, MKBHD kept overspeeding. This prompted intense criticism from the viewers and he had to trim that part from the video. Following this, the YouTuber removed that speeding part from the video. Moreover, he commented under the video, “Cut out the unnecessary driving clip that obviously added nothing to the video. I hear all your feedback on sponsored videos too.”
MKBHD later shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) to apologize to his fans. He wrote, “Last video I did something pretty stupid. You might’ve already seen it, but maybe not so I’ll address it here. There was a clip with the action cam of me test driving a car and going way to fast. Absolutely inexcusable and dangerous. I’ve since cut it out of the video with YouTube’s editor tool. I also understand that this looks like covering it up, but I think it’s the right thing to do.”
The YouTuber concluded his apology by adding, “All I can do apologize and promise never to do anything close to that stupid again.”
