What happened to Keke Palmer and Ryan Murphy?

Keke Palmer revealed that Ryan Murphy got angry at her for missing one day of work due to a production scheduling mess.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, while discussing her upcoming memoir Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative, scheduled to be released on November 19, Palmer revealed that the Scream Queens production crew had given her a shooting schedule which included one non-working day.

Palmer had arranged another obligation for that non-working day. However, the production crew made changes at the last minute on that day and told her she was needed on set. Instead of showing up, Palmer engaged in her other obligation. The Nope actress revealed that this action resulted in a tense phone call between her and showrunner Ryan Murphy, where he chastised her.

“It was kind of like I was in the dean’s office,” Palmer said. “He was like, ‘I’ve never seen you behave like this. I can’t believe that you, out of all people, would do something like this.’”

Palmer then revealed that she had assumed things had cooled down between her and Murphy. However, an unnamed co-star had scared her by saying “It’s bad,” implying he was still annoyed at her. Palmer added that what the co-star said was a “little irritating.”

Moreover, Palmer also revealed that because she stood up for herself, she likely ended the possibility of being a frequent collaborator of Murphy, like Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts, both of whom appeared in multiple projects helmed by Murphy like American Horror Story.

Ryan Murphy has not yet responded to Keke Palmer’s comments.
