Pokimane opens up about health scare after lump returns
Pokimane recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to keep fans posted about having uploaded a vlog detailing the health scare she went through for the last few weeks. Her tweet read, “I was hesitant to share, but I hope it helps someone who might experience something like this in the future.”
In her vlog, she explained that she had discovered a lump previously, which she had removed entirely through lumpectomy. However, a similar health scare resurfaced again, which caused her a lot of stress. She did some MRIs on her different body parts, including her chest. Then, she took those results to her gynecologist. However, her doctor found it hard to read some areas of her chest.
Due to this, her gynecologist recommended her to do some ultrasounds to determine the underlying condition in the chest. Even after doing this, the findings were still uncertain. Not being able to know her diagnosis made her feel extreme anxiety before her appointments, too. She had trouble sleeping as she was very much worried about her diagnosis.
She eventually discovered that her years ago lump, which she had removed, had grown back. Nevertheless, her newly grown lump was non-cancerous. She also happened to have another lump in some other part of her chest. However, her doctor asked her to get two biopsies done to get rid of them. Initially, she was “freaked out” as she never went through this procedure.
After this frightening experience, Pokimane advised all her fans to take care of their health and get tested if they had any health doubts. She said, “I hope this can serve as encouragement for anyone. Please get tested when or if you need to. Please stay on top of your health. …no matter who you are, please take good care of your health.”
