Bad Bunny Endorsed Kamala Harris After Donald Trump Rally Joke Fiasco

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, popularly known as Bad Bunny, has come out in support of Kamala Harris in the upcoming elections. The Puerto Rican rapper’s endorsement of the Democratic nominee comes after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made a controversial remark about his native island during a Donald Trump rally in New York.

Bad Bunny endorses Kamala Harris by sharing her Puerto Rico campaign video

On Sunday, October 27, Bad Bunny shared snippets of a video of Kamala Harris criticizing Donald Trump. She specifically emphasized his administration’s response to the devastating effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria on Puerto Rico in 2017.

“There is so much at stake in this election for Puerto Rican voters and for Puerto,” Harris noted in the first clip, shared in Bad Bunny’s Instagram story. “And this election is not just a choice between Donald Trump and me. It is a choice between two very different visions for our nation.”

In the second clip, Harris said, “I will never forget what Donald Trump did – and what he did not do – when Puerto Rico needed a caring and a competent leader. He abandoned the island, tried to block aid after back-to-back devastating hurricanes, and offered nothing more than paper towels and insults.”

The third clip features the same words from Harris as the second part, though this one is zoomed in on the US Vice President. The fourth and final clip zooms in on Harris even further and contains just the beginning of her quote from the second and third clips: “I will never forget what Donald Trump did.”

Notably, Bad Bunny has over 45 million followers on Instagram.

Earlier, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden. Moreover, he made disparaging comments about Latinos. Besides Bad Bunny, fellow Puerto Rican music star Ricky Martin publicly backed Harris on Instagram on Sunday. The “Livin’ la Vida Loca” singer has more than 18 million followers on the platform.

Hinchcliffe’s comment drew criticism from the Harris-Walz campaign, the Democrats, and the GOP. Danielle Alvarez, a Trump campaign senior advisor, stated, “This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
