The highly anticipated third installment of the Venom franchise revolves around Eddie and Venom’s mission to save themselves from a military van. Fans are buzzing about the possibility of seeing Garfield’s Spider-Man in the film. So, is Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man in Venom 3?
Here is everything you need to know about the beloved superhero’s entry in the film.
Is Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man in Venom 3: The Last Dance?
No, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is not in Venom: The Last Dance.
The rumors surrounding Garfield’s entry in Venom 3 surged after the release of the trailer of the film. Ifans, who portrayed Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard, in The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home, was shown with a new bearded look, sparking theories that his character might cross over from the MCU into the Venom universe.
Additionally, there is a scene in the trailer where Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character hinted to be Orwell Taylor captures a symbiote in a bar. Fans believed that the character could have transitioned from Earth-616 during the universe shift in No Way Home. As Venom killed Taylor’s son, he wanted to seek revenge against the creature. The way Ejiofor’s character captures the symbiote it is possible that he has been tracking the entity for long. Thus, fans started speculating that Garfield’s Spiderman might be residing within the SSU. He could join the SSU following the events of No Way Home with Ifans with two hands as the lizard.
However, the theory of Ejiofor playing Orwell Taylor was busted as he is playing a different character called Rex Strickland. On the other hand, Rhys Ifans’s appearance in the film which served as a substantial hint about Garfield’s entry was proved wrong as well.
Recently, The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel confirmed in an interview with IGN that Ifans is not reprising his role as Connors. She further revealed that he is playing a different character which is enjoyable and important at the same time.
