Why Did Alex Jones’ Eddie Leave Kickin It?

Alex Christian Jones portrayed Eddie Jones in the first two seasons of the Disney XD series Kickin’ It before his exit from the show. As the series lasted for four seasons, fans have been wondering for a long time if Alex was fired.

Here is everything we have learned about whether Alex Jones was fired from Kickin’ It.

Why and when Did Eddie leave Kickin It?

Alex last appeared on Kickin’ It in the Season 2 finale, Oh, Christmas Nuts!, which originally aired on April 1, 2013. It is insinuated that Eddie either left the dojo or was thrown out by Rudy (Jason Earles) because of his poor performance. He had accumulated less-than-impressive karate ratings, and his flexibility was not on the level of the other team members.

Behind the scenes, Alex reportedly left Kickin’ It to devote more time to his family, personal life, and studies as a high-school student. He hails from Birmingham, Alabama, and relocated to look after his grandparents. Before leaving, he thanked the crew and fellow cast members for his experience working on the series.

Afterward, season 3 reportedly underwent rewrites to remove Eddie from the narrative. The character was never recast in the subsequent seasons.

Was Alex Jones fired from Kickin It?

No, Alex Jones was not fired from Kickin’ It. It appears that he left the popular series on his own volition. Kickin’ It aired for 84 episodes spanning four seasons between June 13, 2011, and March 25, 2015. Alex appeared in 44 of them.

His exit from Kickin’ It also seems to have marked his departure from Hollywood. Since then, he has largely stayed away from acting. The only project he has appeared in after Kickin’ It is The CW superhero series Black Lightning (2018-2021). Alex portrayed Sekou Hamilton in Season 3 Episode 5, The Book of Occupation: Chapter Five: Requiem for Tavon, initially broadcast on November 11, 2019.
