The Ambush Makeover star Jill Martin has recently stirred conversations on the internet after she spoke about her divorce from her husband Erik Brooks. Amid the heartbreaking divorce, Martin was also going through health difficulties following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023. However, the TV personality’s fans were happy after she was declared cancer-free recently.
Here are all the details that fans need to know about Jill Martin and Erik Brooks’ divorce.
Why did Jill Martin and Eric Brooks divorce?
Jill Martin was recently present at Hoda Kotb’s podcast, where she touched upon her divorce from Erik Brooks.
On Making Space with Hoda Kotb, Martin highlighted how cancer impacted her life. She stated that certain issues were the reason she and Brooks parted ways. She said, “I had a beautiful love affair, but like some stories, unfortunately, have beginning, middle, and end. And we both put the period on it this time. So, if everything were great, we would be married. So obviously there were issues.”
Martin added that she and her husband had different priorities which “were not right or wrong.” Moreover, she shared that she now has clarity about what she seeks in a partner. “If someone can’t handle the cancer part of it or the body part of it, that’s not my guy. I have so much to offer now. I know right from wrong.”
According to a report by Page Six, she and Erik Brooks exchanged wedding vows in a private ceremony on September 10, 2022. However, they decided to part ways two years later on September 5, 2024, just five days before their second wedding anniversary.
A source close to the former couple at that time revealed to the outlet that the process was already completed in September. They further asserted, “Because there are families involved, and the past year has been so earth-shattering for Jill, she plans for this to be her only acknowledgment.”
After having their first meeting on a dating app, Jill Martin and Erik Brooks got engaged in 2019. The duo later decided to split away, but was back together in 2021, followed by their wedding the next year.
