In 2004, Cheryl Ann Tweedy got into a relationship with English footballer Ashley Cole, who was playing for Arsenal at the time. After some time, the couple got engaged and soon tied the knot in 2006. Cheryl took his last name and became Cheryl Cole. However, after being together for around four years, Cheryl Cole filed for divorce, citing “unreasonable behavior,” in May 2010. Following their split, the singer began using her mononym “Cheryl” for music releases.

After brief courtships with Derek Hough and Tre Holloway, Cheryl Cole got married to French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014. Their marriage lasted for two years before they separated in 2016.

The same year Cheryl reportedly began dating former One Direction member Liam Payne, whom she had previously judged in X Factor UK, way back in 2008. The romance blossomed and Cheryl and Payne welcomed their baby boy Bear in 2017. However, a year later the couple announced that they had called it quits. Payne tragically passed away on October 16, 2024, after a lethal fall from his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
