Yes, Reddit is down today, October 14.

According to Downdetector, over 2,000 users have reported Reddit outages within the last 24 hours. Typically, the platform only flags incidents when problem reports rise sharply beyond the usual volume for that time. On October 14, users started experiencing difficulties accessing Reddit’s web version, with outage reports peaking around 1:30 a.m. ET, though the mobile app seemed unaffected.

Users encountering problems saw the error message: “upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure.” Many frustrated users turned to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their complaints. Despite the widespread disruption, Reddit has yet to comment on the situation.

What does the Reddit ‘Request has been blocked due to network policy’ error mean?

Recently, a Reddit user named TGVMinecraftMap reported encountering the error message, “Request has been blocked due to network policy,” while trying to sign up. The user explained that they could sign in through old.reddit.com and navigate the site when logged in but received the error message upon signing out.

They shared a screenshot of the issue, which also suggested alternative login methods. In their post, they noted that the problem occurred only on Firefox, starting just minutes before posting.
