Why Fans Think Velma Is Canceled Before Season 3

Is Velma canceled before Season 3? That’s the question many fans are asking following a surprising update from one of the show’s background artists. Mindy Kaling’s Velma has captivated viewers with its bold, animated take on a young girl solving murder mysteries while searching for her missing mother. With Season 2 recently airing, speculation is mounting about the future of the series and fans doubt if a Season 3 is on makers’ radars.

Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Velma canceled by MAX after Season 2?

As of now, Max has not officially confirmed whether Velma is canceled after Season 2.

The rumors about Velma’s cancelation stem from a now-deleted Instagram post of background artist, Davey Cummings. In the post, he provided a disappointing update about the series not returning for another season. He expressed his gratitude for working with an amazing crew and clearly stated that “There will not be a Season 3”.

Additionally, he looked forward to working with the talented people again someday. He also promoted Velma’s Halloween special that viewers can stream on Max. This deleted post did indicate uncertainty about Velma’s renewal, however, fans will have to wait for an official confirmation from the network. (via Comic Book News)

Could Velma Season 3 still happen?

Velma Season 3 remains unconfirmed, so it’s hard to determine if it will happen.

After deleting the earlier post, Cummings clarified that his statements were not based on Warner Bros’ official plans and apologized for any confusion. He thanked fans for the follows and likes while mentioning that he has no idea if Velma Season 3 is happening or not. He wrote, “Please do not take my posts as directions that Warner is going in.” At this point, the fate of Velma Season 3 remains uncertain, and fans are left awaiting news from Warner Bros or Max.

In the meantime, viewers can enjoy the new Halloween special, This Halloween Needs To Be More Special!, released on October 3, which adds some spooky fun to the Velma universe.
