The recently-released Platform 2 has left many fans divided with its open ending. The Spanish movie premiered on Netflix on Friday, five years after the release of its predecessor. Platform 2 effectively builds upon the premise of the original film by introducing a new conflict among prisoners this time around. The mid-credits scene in Platform 2 reveals the descent of several of the remaining inmates to the prison’s bottom. The sequence also showcases how all the said convicts are accompanied by different children.
The culminating scene hints at the deteriorating state of the prison that enables the constant suffering of its residents. A raging theory suggests that the mid-credits snippet instead proves the existence of similar vertical prisons elsewhere. Interestingly, director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia seems to have confirmed this idea during his recent interview with Collider.
