Power Book II: Ghost Season 5: Has Starz Canceled or Renewed It?

Fans of Starz’s hit spin-off crime-drama show Power Book II: Ghost are buzzing with curiosity if the show has ended. With its engaging plot characterizing the journey of some of Power’s most controversial characters, it’s built a solid fanbase. As everyone waits for news on new episodes, the big question on viewers’ minds is whether Power Book II: Ghost is over and if Season 4 is the last season.

Here’s everything you need to know about the future of Power Book II: Ghost and whether it will return for a fifth season.

Has Power Book II: Ghost ended with Season 4?

Yes, Power Book II: Ghost has ended, with Season 4’s spectacular 10 episodes culminating the show’s storyline.

The series finale premieres on Friday, October 4, and is titled “Ghost in the Machine.” Viewers will witness how the conclusion of this chapter in Power takes place. Earlier, there was a union meant to unite the Tejadas, but Noma now seems more distant than ever. Meanwhile, Tariq and Monet embark on what appears to be a straightforward mission.

However, as per Radio Times, Kathryn Busby, the President of Programming at Starz, shared a statement regarding the show’s cancellation. She confirmed that Season 4 will be the final one.

“This explosive season of Ghost is a fitting crescendo in a decade of an immensely popular franchise — fans will not be disappointed. While this marks the conclusion of one chapter, our commitment to the Power Universe endures with more compelling storytelling on the horizon,” said Busby.

Could there be more seasons of Power Book II: Ghost?

As of now, there will be no more seasons of Power Book II: Ghost. The show was canceled after the fourth season.

Earlier this March, the unfortunate news broke about the cancellation of the show after Season 4. This decision came after Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch shared that the network’s strategy is shifting toward developing new content. Instead of maintaining existing shows, which have become increasingly costly to produce.

According to Deadline, the Starz CEO said, “You look at the Power map and say, ‘OK. If I take one of those characters out and spin one of those out, I can bring that on to replace the Power show at half the cost. Now I’m putting a lot of money right into the bottom line. And I’m really not losing anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership. Because we know what those demos want.”

Currently, Tariq’s journey in the Power universe has wrapped up with Season 4, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t pop up in another series or make a cameo. There are still some thrilling new chapters on the way with Book III: Raising Kanan and Book IV: Force. Additionally, there is a fresh prequel series centered on Ghost and Tommy.

US viewers can catch all episodes of Power Book II: Ghost, from Seasons 1 to 4 on Starz.
