All major Marvel easter eggs spotted in Thunderbolts* Trailer

Marvel made a surprise drop on Monday, September 23, with the Thunderbolts* trailer, sending the superhero fandom into panic mode. Furthermore, the trailer boasts 9.6 million views in less than a day. With discussions about the Thunderbolts* trailer hitting the internet, the easter eggs have grabbed major attention. Below is a list of all the Marvel references fans can notice in the Thunderbolts* teaser trailer.

Loki’s Scepter

The biggest reference that shocked MCU fans was the appearance of Loki’s Scepter from the 2012 movie, The Avengers. The scepter was a powerful weapon that had the mind stone installed in it, using which Loki, who before becoming the keeper of the timelines in his own series, brainwashed many people to work for him in The Avengers and open a gateway for the Chitauri.

However, following Loki’s defeat, the scepter was confiscated by S.H.I.E.L.D., but got in the hands of HYDRA instead. Later on, the scepter is recovered by the Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Ultron steals it to get the mind stone using which Vision was created. Thus, now it seems the scepter is just a showpiece in a museum as seen in the trailer.

Avengers Tower

Another easter egg that fans noticed in the Thunderbolts* trailer was the Avengers tower. Following the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Earth’s mightiest heroes had moved to another base, after which there was no appearance recorded of the tower. However, in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it was revealed that the tower was sold to some buyers whose names weren’t disclosed. But in the trailer for Thunderbolts*, the tower looks like a base for Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Bucky in Winter Soldier mode

The appearance of Bucky in the Thunderbolts* trailer has to be a cheer-worthy moment. From him keeping his vibranium arm in a dishwasher to the super soldier attacking the Thunderbolts*, Bucky’s role in the movie seems significant. The major easter egg that his frames in the trailer for Thunderbolts* carry is his long hair, which is reminiscent of his appearance in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Towards the end of the trailer, fans can also see Bucky going all out in hunting the Thunderbolts*. So it’s not confirmed if he is back to his Winter Soldier mode or not.

Also known as Marvel’s version of Superman, Sentry is said to be a major part of the movie. Although his name wasn’t mentioned in the teaser trailer, the appearance of Lewis Pullman as Bob has stirred up speculations. The role of Sentry is further solidified after Pullman’s Bob is seen standing and gunshots are fired at him. But what is noticeable is the gun shells that fall to the ground.

Additionally, the biggest easter egg from the Thunderbolts* trailer confirming Sentry’s role is the glimpse of his logo. The logo, which reads like an “S,” is two circle halves divided by a line in the middle, resembling the one seen in the comics.

Thus, here are the references that can be seen in the trailer of Thunderbolts*. These confirm that the movie is going to pack some amazing surprises for fans.
