No, ABC’s Debate Moderator David Muir Wasn’t Fired

The rumors about ABC firing David Muir have gone viral, making fans wonder about its authenticity. Muir initially joined ABC network in 2003 as an anchor for the news program, World News Now. Over the years, he has moderated various political debates and has earned immense recognition in the field of broadcasting journalism. However, these recent rumors have sent shockwaves among fans who are curious as to whether the network has fired its brilliant anchor, Muir.

Here’s everything you need to know about the ABC fired Muir rumors.

Did David Muir get fired by ABC?

The rumors are false, ABC hasn’t fired Muir.

These viral rumors stemmed from a Facebook page. The account uploaded an image of journalists Muir and Linsey Devis mentioning ABC is firing them for being a “disgrace to their profession.” The caption also reiterated the quote about the network letting go of its two renowned journalists. However, the rumor had no truth as the caption also mentions the post being a satire.

The image’s right-hand side’s top also further confirmed the post’s falseness as it claimed that nothing posted on the page was real. It further added,” If you believe anything we post, then you’re a potato crap”. SpaceX Fanclub is a satire parody page famously known for posting fake news for the amusement of the audience by cautioning them about its inaccuracy. Previously, this same page also reported that Jimmy Kimmel was fired from ABC, which was of course false.

Nevertheless, their recent shocking rumors likely are inspired by a comment that former president Donald Trump passed about debate moderators of ABC’s presidential debate. He slammed the “Fake news media” for not giving him credit for putting on a great debate against Kamala Harris. Following this, he said,” They should fire everybody at ABC Fake News, whose two lightweight ‘anchors’ have brought disgrace onto the company!” per OK Magazine.
