Could Hayden Christensen return as Darth Vader in future Star Wars projects?
Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader for future Star Wars projects, is currently unconfirmed as of this writing.
However, Christensen recently expressed interest in reprising the role for an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 if it ever comes to fruition. He shared the same in an interview with Variety, which also featured his co-star Ewan McGregor. “If it means that I got to do more with Ewan, then that’s a no-brainer,” he said.
The Anakin Skywalker actor had previously expressed interest in reprising the role in future Star Wars projects in a 2023 Entertainment Weekly interview if an opportunity to do the same presented itself. “I’ll be there with a big smile on my face,” he said.
After Ahsoka Season 1, the next best place for Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader’s return is Season 2 of the series, obviously due to his strong ties to the protagonist as her former master. He could once again serve the same supporting role as a force ghost, but this time offering insight and advice to Ahsoka if she ever doubts herself.
Christensen could also return as Darth Vader if and when Lucasfilm decides to make a series or movie centered around the character. In an “Actually Me” GQ interview, the actor agreed with a fan’s idea of a Vader/Anakin show taking place between his transition into Darth Vader during Order 66 and the events of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rebels.
Christensen even indirectly admitted he was game to do it. “I like your timeline, It’s a good timeline. There’s good stuff there,” he opined.
