In an interview with People Magazine, Melissa Gilbert said she left LA “in order to age.” She said, “All of the pressures, I faced all of them.” She further spoke about how difficult it was for her to live in Hollywood, Los Angeles, likening it to an experience of living at the mall where you work. The Little House on the Prairie star then spoke of how there was a lot of pressure amongst many when it came to “staying thin and staying young.”

Melissa Gilbert currently lives with her husband Timothy Busfield in a home in Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York. They bought the home in 2018. The couple has affectionately dubbed it “The Cabbage” (via Fox News).
Prior to this Gilbert and Busfield lived in Michigan for five years between 2013 and 2018, following their 2013 marriage.
