May posted a video message on his official website where he opened up about the frightening experience. He shared that he had suffered a minor stroke a few days prior, leading to a brief hospital stay.
He stated, ”The good news is that I can play guitar. It was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago, and what they called it was a minor stroke.” May then gestured toward his left arm and said, ”All of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm, so it was a little scary.”
After making the health revelation, May talked about how the incident led to significant restrictions on his daily activities. He said, ”I’m not allowed to go out – well, I’m not allowed to drive, not allowed to get on a plane, not allowed to raise the heart rate too high.”
Despite the ordeal, May remained positive and requested that fans refrain from sending an overwhelming number of recovery messages. ”I really don’t want sympathy. Please don’t do that because it’ll clutter up my inbox and I hate that,” he said.
