Cristiano Ronaldo recently said something about popular YouTuber MrBeast, and football fans and netizens alike want to know what he said. A legend in the football realm, Ronaldo recently dipped his toes in the digital and social media sphere by launching his own YouTube channel, UR Cristiano, which at the time of this writing has a total of 56.7 million subscribers. Ronaldo’s subscriber count has already surpassed that of his generational rival Lionel Messi, who only has 3.36 million subscribers to his channel as of writing. Ever since Ronaldo launched his YouTube channel in July, fans of the footballer have followed his every move there to see how this new venture would pan out for him in the long run.
So what did Cristiano Ronaldo say about MrBeast? Did Ronaldo threaten him? Did he joke about the YouTuber? Here are all the answers.
Cristiano Ronaldo says he wants to beat MrBeast
Cristiano Ronaldo humorously expressed his intention to beat MrBeast’s subscriber count on YouTube. He did so in an appearance at a press conference ahead of Portugal’s UEFA National League games.
“MrBeast is the one I have to beat.” He quipped.
When asked if he wished to become a YouTuber in the future, Ronaldo revealed that the reason he started his own YouTube channel was to connect more with his fans. He opined that the fans deserved it and that it was the best thing about it. He further expressed that the overwhelming support Portugal received during the EURO greatly impressed him and that his YouTube channel was a way of showing his appreciation for that.
Upon launching his channel on July 8, 2024, Cristiano Ronaldo racked up an impressive subscriber count of 10 million in just 12 hours. This is an amazing, unusual, and rather rare feat seen on YouTube. Ronaldo’s obvious massive fame prior to and during the start of his YouTube channel most definitely helped in achieving this feat.
In comparison, MrBeast, whose channel is currently the most-subscribed YouTube channel with 313 million subscribers, only achieved the same feat of accruing 10 million subscribers within 132 days.
