The Chicago Cubs have been on a dream run in this year’s Major League Baseball, after coming out victorious in nine matches out of twelve. However, the manager of the Chicago Cubs, Craig Counsell, has now revealed the secret behind this streak of victories.
Counsell recently sat done for a small chat with Marquee Sports Network. The host asked him how Taylor Swift has brought luck to the team. She also cited how most of the players in Cubs are certified Swifties.
To this, Counsell said, ”I was gifted a… a Taylor Swift candle, and we’ve lighting that before games in my office… clubhouse manager Danny Miller, and we’ve got a nice little run here, so we’re going to credit Taylor Swift.” He further revealed that he and Miller have been on duty to light the candle for the past 12 games.
As per MLB Stats, in 7 of these 12 games, the Chicago Cubs have made a total of 73 runs. It is the highest the team has scored in a seven-game span since 1961. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Taylor Swift candle is priced at $21 and curated by Candle Babes, which is based in Chicago.
