Speculation has been rife among Taylor Swift fans about the nature of her relationship with comedian Nikki Glaser. The latter’s attendance at several concerts on Swift’s Eras Tour has ignited curiosity about whether the two have developed a friendship. Glaser’s recent comments about the singer in various interviews have further fueled this interest. Given Swift’s well-known circle of celebrity friends, including Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid, fans are eager to know if Glaser has joined their ranks.
So are Taylor Swift and Nikki Glaser friends? What have they said about each other? Here is your answer.
Are Taylor Swift and Nikki Glaser friends?
Taylor Swift and Nikki Glaser are not exactly friends. However, Glaser is a fan of the singer.
Glaser first met Taylor Swift backstage during the latter’s Red tour in 2012. At the time of the meeting, Glaser was not a hardcore fan of Swift. However, the comedian said that she became a fan of hers after meeting her, “She was so normal backstage and I had just seen her do this gigantic thing and she was so nice and personable,” as per E! News.
However, Nikki Glaser made a regrettable comment about Taylor Swift during an appearance in the documentary Miss Americana. Glaser body-shamed the pop star, labeling her and her model friends as “annoying.” Consequently, in a January 2020 Instagram post, Glaser issued an apology, acknowledging her own experiences with body-shaming and expressing hope that Swift would hear her sincere remorse.
Fortunately for Nikki Glaser, Swift indeed reached out via the comments of the post and accepted the apology.
“Wow. I appreciate this so much and one of the major themes about the doc is that we can change our opinions over time, to grow, to learn about ourselves.” Swift commented. “I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve struggled with some of the same things I’ve struggled with. Sending a massive hug,” she concluded.
More recently, Glaser joined many Swifties in celebrating Swift’s Eras Tour. In a recent The Hollywood Reporter interview, Glaser expressed joy her father was a Swiftie after she had taken them to one of the Eras Tour concerts. Here, she also affirmed that she would never try to “monetize” her “love” for Swift and pointed out the singer’s appearances in headlines when people would talk about her.
Glaser recently revealed in a Vogue interview that she has been to 17 Eras Tour concerts and it would be 22 if more shows were added. The comedian then expressed excitement for five more shows she would go to.
Moreover, in a recent Entertainment Tonight interview, Nikki Glaser in addition to talking about how she happily got her parents to love Taylor Swift, opined that Swift had inspired her in her career as a comedian and how to open up more with her friends.
Swift, on the other hand, has yet to reveal what she thinks of Nikki Glaser and her work.
