On August 29, during the game against the Braves, Bohm awkwardly twisted his left hand while swinging his bat. This incident took place as he faced a foul ball from Braves pitcher Charlie Morton. After his swing, Bohm let go of his bat, walking away from home plate and holding his left arm steady in pain.
Phillies Manager Rob Thomson and assistant athletic trainer Christian Bermudez came onto the field to check on him. However, Bohm stayed in the game. On the next pitch, he grounded out and made his way back to the team clubhouse, seemingly in pain. As per NBC Sports, manager Thomson said, âIt was just kind of a weird finish. He pinched something in there, kind of a zinger. But heâs sore right now. Weâll just reassess him tomorrow.â
Still not giving up, he came back out for the top of the second inning and caught a lineout from Luke Williams. Soon after this, he exited the field just before the beginning of the third inning.

As per Matt Gelb of The Athletic, his left hand x-rays returned negative, and manager Thomson said the team will see how he feels. While the injury might not seem very serious after the test results, it is currently unknown whether or not Bohm will return for game 2 against the Braves. Given that the x-ray came back negative, he shouldnât be sidelined for too long.
