Federico Chiesa Injury History & Transfer Explained

Italian soccer superstar Federico Chiesa is currently at a crossroads with Juventus, largely due to his troubled injury history. New manager Thiago Motta has publicly ousted the attacker from his setup, landing him on the transfer market. With several clubs interested in signing Chiesa, fans have expressed an interest in learning about his injury history.

Here are all the available details regarding the winger’s prolonged fitness issues.

How many times has Federico Chiesa been injured?

The 26-year-old Italian has encountered 22 separate medical problems throughout his playing career.

As per Transfermarkt, the injury-prone Federico Chiesa’s history with fitness troubles dates back to his days in Fiorentina. However, his injuries over the course of two seasons with the Purples only caused him to miss nine games in total. Chiesa’s issues with his health escalated significantly following his move to Juventus in 2020. Since then, the Serie A winger has encountered several ailments, ranging from muscle fatigue to knee problems and even a cruciate ligament tear.

As a consequence, he has had to sit out 91 games for his club since relocating to Turin. Notably, Chiesa’s injury history includes five separate issues that occurred last term in addition to the seven injuries he sustained in the 2022-23 season.

Have Juventus confirmed Federico Chiesa’s transfer?

At the time of writing, Federico Chiesa is still stationed at Juventus and has yet to transfer to another club.

Despite his current state, the explosive attacker seems to be destined to depart Serie A sooner rather than later. Juventus head coach Thiago Motta has already stated that Chiesa will not be featuring in his squad this season. Consequently, multiple European clubs have expressed genuine interest in acquiring the Italian’s services.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are also scouting Federico Chiesa as a potential new recruit. Nevertheless, no official news regarding his transfer has been confirmed so far. As a result, the 51-capped Italy international stays put in Turin at the moment.
