In a dramatic turn of events following the Democratic National Convention, Fox News found itself at the center of an awkward situation when it seemingly abruptly ended an interview with former President Donald Trump. This sudden interruption has sparked widespread speculation. Now, people want to know what exactly went down between Fox News and Donald Trump.

Here is everything to know about what happened between the news channel and Trump during his post-DNC interview.

What happened between Fox News and Donald Trump?

On Thursday, Fox News ended an interview with former President Donald Trump in an abrupt manner while he was mid-rant, following the Democratic National Convention. Trump had phoned into the network shortly after Kamala Harris’s acceptance speech. During the call, he passionately voiced his opinions, criticizing the situation at both the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders, and expressing support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

Trump’s comments were met with interruptions from Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, who were attempting to wrap up the interview to transition to live coverage of other events. Baier, frequently nodding to Trump’s statements, signaled that the segment was coming to an end. As Trump continued discussing Kennedy’s difficulties with the Democratic Party, MacCallum interjected and said, “That’s why we saw a different night tonight.” The hosts thanked Trump and Baier said, “We appreciate that live feedback.” To this Trump replied, “Thank you very much.”

The scene cuts to a live broadcast of Gutfeld! Host Greg Gutfeld acknowledged the sudden end of Trump’s call with a light-hearted remark. He said, “That wasn’t my fault, Donald Trump! He’s still talking, by the way.” Shortly after, Trump reportedly found a new platform on Newsmax, where he continued to air his grievances. (via The Daily Beast)

Notably, in her extended acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, Kamala Harris held former President Donald Trump accountable for the troubles at the U.S. border. She alleged that Trump had undermined a bipartisan Senate agreement designed to strengthen border security.
