Josh and Lori Shapiro’s relationship started in high school when they first met as students at Akiba Hebrew Academy, now Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. Josh, who captained the basketball team, and Lori, a member of the softball team, began dating in ninth grade. After high school, they went their separate ways for college but reconnected in Washington, D.C., where Josh Shapiro was working on Capitol Hill and Lori Shapiro in the White House.
