The Korean movie Mission: Cross begins by introducing the main couple of the story—Kang-Moo (Hwang Jung-Min) and Kang Mi-Seon (Yum Jung-Ah). They are a married couple with different personalities. Kang-Moo is a house husband who is extremely caring towards his wife and her colleagues. Meanwhile, Mi-Seon is a police detective with a strong personality. She is also an ace at her job. The film soon reveals that Kang-Moo used to be a highly skilled secret agent in a special task force. He was also the leader of a team that worked on high-risk cases. After a tragic incident that took away one of his colleague’s life while on a secret mission, Kang-Moo was discharged from his duties. Since then, he has been living a normal life, hiding his past career.
Soon, in Mission: Cross, ex-agent Kang-Moo returns to his old life, and he has to go on a dangerous mission to save another ex-colleague. It all starts when, one day, he reunites with one of his female ex-colleagues, Jang Hee-Ju (Jeon Hye-Jin). She tells him that her husband, Kim Jung-San (Kim Joo-Hun), who is also Kang-Moo’s former colleague, has gone missing while working on a secret mission involving high-profile individuals and a massive amount of corrupted money. She also reveals that she is pregnant with his child.
At that moment, Kang-Moo decides to help her by going on a risky mission to save Kim Jung-San’s life. He also keeps this a secret from his wife.
Who is the mastermind behind the corruption case?
Towards the end of Mission: Cross, viewers see Kang Mi-Seon thinking that her husband Kang-Moo is having an affair with Jang Hee-Ju after seeing them together at a hotel. However, when she follows them, she finds out that her husband is on a secret mission to rescue a man from someone named Park.
In the meantime, Kang-Moo uses her sharp skills and strategies to rescue Kim Jung-San successfully. He then brings him to a place where they are supposed to meet Jang Hee-Ju. However, soon, in a shocking turn of events, it is revealed that Jang Hee-Ju is none other than a person named Park. She is the brain behind the corruption case. She planned to lure Kang-Moo in to save Jung-Sun. Hee-Ju did all this so that she could get significant information to get her hands on the massive amount of money.
After learning the truth at the end of Mission: Cross, Kang-Moo and Kang Mi-Seon team up. They go on an action-packed quest to take down Hee-Ju, aka Park. After an extensive set of challenges, they finally end up taking down Park and retrieving the money. They hand the money over to the officials and respectfully turn themselves in.
At the very end, the Korean comedy-action film jumps several months after their arrest. They are seen interrogating an individual involved in a drug case. It looks like they have now partnered up and started working together. Thus, the film ends on a highly satisfying and intriguing note.
