Days of Our Lives: Did Everett Lynch Die? Why Did Blake Berris Leave?

Following the latest dramatic turn on Days of Our Lives, fans are buzzing with questions about Blake Berris’ character, Everett Lynch. The storyline has left viewers anxiously wondering about Everett’s fate: Is he dead or alive? This has further prompted speculation about Berris’ departure from the show. Here are all the details.

Is Everett Lynch dead or alive on Days of Our Lives?

In the episode that aired on Thursday, August 1, Connie Villinski carried out her plan, resulting in the poisoning and subsequent death of Bobby Stein / Everett Lynch.

Blake Berris returned to Days of Our Lives in October 2023, stepping back into the role of Everett Lynch, Stephanie’s ex. As the storyline unfolded, it became evident that Everett was hiding a significant secret: he had an alternate persona named Bobby Stein, who had been previously married to Jada. The plot took a dark turn when Connie, involved with Bobby, decided to take drastic action, which led to Bobby’s death.

In response to the dramatic events, Berris took to Instagram to reflect on his character’s fate. Alongside a photo with Abigail Klein, who plays Stephanie, he wrote: “Rest in peace, Everett.” On a still image of Abigail mourning Everett, Berris wrote, “Au revoir for now. What a great ride. Love my fam at DAYS.” (via Soaps in Depth)

Why did Blake Berris leave Days of Our Lives?

Blake Berris wanted to focus on writing and producing.

Blake Berris’ exit from Days of Our Lives came amid a period of significant career changes and personal re-evaluation. According to Soaps, Berris initially distanced himself from acting to focus on writing and producing, including plans to direct a feature film. However, the disruptions caused by the writers’ strike made him reconsider his return to television.

Eager to rejoin the world of daytime TV, Berris launched a proactive effort to get back on the show. He worked closely with Deidre Hall and presented multiple storyline ideas to the show’s producers, all in an attempt to reinstate his character. In March or April, one of the show’s casting directors reached out to Berris with an opportunity to return for a 13-week stint. This engagement extended beyond the planned period, allowing him to stay on the show longer than initially expected.
