The new Korean reality show, The Influencer, is set to premiere on Netflix this week. It is a social survival game show involving 77 of Korea’s most famous social media influencers. They will compete to prove who is the best among them.
The official synopsis reads, “The 77 participants boast a combined total of 120 million followers across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and AfreecaTV. From first-generation famous creators to Gen Z TikTokers with solid global fanbases, these influencers will face various challenges to earn the coveted title of ‘the best influencer.’” The contestants will be given challenging tasks to become a viral sensation.
The Influencer on Netflix: When is the release date?
The Influencer on Netflix will premiere on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The number of episodes is still unknown.
Lee Jae-Seok is producing the unscripted reality series. Explaining the concept, he said, “I thought it would be interesting to gather influencers, divided by algorithms, in one place. You’ll see the top influencers in Korea and experience unique entertainment through the large scale and visuals that only Netflix can deliver, along with never-before-seen social survival missions.”
The Influencer on Netflix: Who is in the cast?
The Influencer will consist of 77 contestants. Some of them include RISABAE, PaniBottle, Shim Euddeum, Jang Keun-Suk, Sia_jiwoo, and KEJIMIN. Other contestants are Ki Eun-Se, Heo Seong-Beom, KINKY, Kim Ban-Seok, Great Library, Magenta, Yang Yoo-Jin, Oking, Jang Sung-Yub, Jang Ji-Sou, Jin Yong-Jin, Jinjeolme, Cha Hong, Kerrigan May, Lee Jeong-Hyun, FITVELY, and Hwang Jae-Geun.
The production team sheds some light on the cast and game show. They said, “It’s crucial for an influencer to draw attention. The focus on each cast member’s influence is what sets The Influencer apart from other survival reality shows. It’ll be fascinating to see how they strategize to win.”
