What happened to Iris at the end of Mayor of Kingstown Season 3?
Iris has died at the end of Mayor of Kingstown due to an apparent drug overdose.
At the end of Season 3, a fight erupted between Milo, Mike, Iris, and Konstantin. The fight ended with Iris killing Konstantin after being forced to do so by Milo, who was subsequently killed by Mike, after the former insinuated that the latter’s mother Mariam died because of him.
Following this, Iris, who was likely traumatized by killing Konstantin and the terrible things she experienced in past seasons, boarded a bus leaving Kingstown. She then popped some pills to likely soothe her pain and calm herself. Unfortunately, when her bus reached the next station, the driver had found her dead on her seat with her mouth and eyes open and her face looking pale.
Will Emma Laird’s Iris return in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4?
Emma Laird’s Iris will not return in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4, which has currently not been confirmed as of writing.
In a recent interaction with Variety, series co-creator Hugh Dillon implied that Iris’ story was done when he said viewers “should say goodbye” to certain characters from the series. Dillon then proceeded to share his personal experiences with people in his life who died by suicide.
