Big Ocean is a brand-new K-pop group under Parastar Entertainment. Consisting of three members, they made history by becoming the first-ever Korean boy group with hearing impairment. The members of the group include – Kim Jiseok, Park Hyunjin and Lee Chanyeon. All of them have hearing difficulties and use different technologies and medical devices to overcome any obstacles and perfect their craft.
Big Ocean made their debut with their first digital single, titled, “Glow”, on April 20, 2024. Since then, the boy group have been pushing the boundaries to generate more inclusivity in the K-pop industry. They are also inspiring fans all over the world with their uplifting music. The act has already gained 849K followers on their official Instagram account as of now.
Big Ocean K-pop boy group members profiles explored
As mentioned earlier, the first hearing-impaired K-pop boy group Big Ocean has three members. It includes – Park Hyunjin, Kim Jiseok and Lee Chanyeon. A list of the ages of all three members is given below.
- Kim Jiseok – 21 (March 5, 2003)
- Park Hyunjin – 24 (October 24, 1999)
- Lee Chanyeon – 26 (March 27, 1998)
Kim Jiseok is the youngest member (maknae) in the group. He is the main dancer of Big Ocean. Kim Jiseok was born with hearing difficulties. As per Tatler, he is also a former Alpine skier, who went on to develop an immense passion for arts.
In the meantime, Park Hyunjin is the second youngest member and the main vocalist of the boy band. He was not born with hearing impairment but developed hearing difficulties due to a severe fever at a very young age. Before becoming a member of the K-pop group, Park Hyunjin was a YouTuber and a commercial model under Parastar Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Lee Chanyeon is the oldest member and the main rapper of Big Ocean. Like Hyunjin, he was also not born with hearing difficulties but lost his hearing at the young age of eleven. Before debuting in the K-pop industry with his group, he used to be an audiologist at the prestigious Korea University Anam Hospital.
