BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s new K-drama, Newtopia, has been confirmed. She will share screen space with actor Park Jung-Min for the first time. The upcoming Coupang Play series will join the zombie drama genre.
Newtopia revolves around Jae-Yoon, who enlisted in the military, and his girlfriend, Young-Joo. A zombie virus engulfs the city, which makes the young couple panic. They rush to find each other amid the chaos.
The network has recently shared a few photo stills from the drama. It shows Jae-Yoon with a fellow military man looking at something with a shocking expression. The wall behind them is covered in blood. The next picture shows a concerned Young-Joo on the street.

BLACKPINK Jisoo’s K-drama, Newtopia, will not release this year. Coupang Play announced that the upcoming zombie apocalypse series will premiere in 2025.
Newtopia K-drama: Jisoo & Park Jung-Min cast as leads
In Newtopia K-drama, K-pop idol Jisoo from BLACKPINK and actor Park Jung-Min will lead the cast. They will play lovers in the series who will try to find each other during a zombie attack.
Jisoo (Kim Ji-Soo) has not done many dramas but has left an impactful impression with her previous work. She rose to fame in the acting world with the 2021 hit series, Snowdrop, opposite Jung Hae-In. The “Flower” singer will next be seen in Newtopia, which was initially titled Influenza. She will also appear in an upcoming movie, Omniscient Reader, alongside Ahn Hyo-Seop and Lee Min-Ho.
On the other hand, Park Jung-Min has previously worked in many popular K-dramas, including The 8 Show, Sh**ting Stars, Hellbound, Mr. Sunshine, Reply 1988, and Entourage. He has also appeared in Korean films, such as Start-Up, Time to Hunt, and Life is But a Dream.
Meanwhile, the two stars will collaborate on a romance fantasy project, Newtopia, on Coupang Play.
