What happens in No Way Out: The Roulette Episode 1?
No Way Out: The Roulette episode 1 further shows a detective/policeman named Baek Joong-Sik (Jo Jin-Woong) creating a ruckus. He has been scammed and wants to find the fraud, but he is nowhere to be found. Joong-Sik also deals with his wife’s anger, as they can lose their house because of the scam.
At the police station, Joong-Sik tries to convince many banks for loans but fails miserably. Amid his financial troubles, he gets an emergency call from a hospital and rushes to check the case. When he reaches the hospital, a junior police officer takes him to an unconscious patient. He is Chang-Jae, whose ear has been chopped off. The cops look at the hospital’s entrance CCTV footage and spot a man dropping Chang-Jae. That man holds the chopped ear.
Joong-Sik and Park Eun-Jeong (a junior police officer) find it odd. The former even argues that they might be mistaken, wondering how a person can carry the evidence in front of a camera. Joong-Sik wants to avoid the case, thinking it may not be a big deal, but his boss forces him to dig further.
Did Jo Jin-Woong steal the butcher’s money?
Joong-Sik follows an address and reaches the house of the butcher who cut off Chang-Jae’s ear. Before meeting the culprit, the cop finds a bag with a logo. During the chase, the butcher falls and dies.
Later, he arrives home and opens his car’s trunk, where the bag is kept. He opens it, revealing a whopping amount. Meanwhile, Chang-Jae returns to the butcher’s home and looks for the bag. Through a dashcam, he learns that the cop has stolen it.
The next morning, Joong-Sik’s wife is happy to see the money. To avoid suspicions, the cop closes the cases, citing that the perpetrator is dead. After a while, Eun-Jeong informs the cop that Chang-Jae is missing from the hospital. He manages to convince his junior to drop the matter.
No Way Out: The Roulette Episode 1 ending spoilers
In No Way Out: The Roulette episode 1, Joong-Sik soon realizes that he can get in trouble. It appears the money came from a dangerous online game, “Spin the Roulette.” A man streams a video wearing a mask and spins the wheel to assign tasks. If the game is completed, then he gives a huge amount. The cop decides to catch the man.
According to the masked man’s instructions, the police arrive in front of a stadium. The culprit announces that he will assign his next task there. He sends big balloons attached to drones inside the stadium. People create chaos by barging into the place while Joong-Sik tries to arrive first. Soon, the balloons burst, and a shower of cash drops to the ground.
After the chaos settles, the masked man streams another video and spins the roulette. The next target is Kim Guk-Ho, who will be released from jail in three days. The person who will kill Guk-Ho will receive 20 billion won.
