For the uninitiated, the 2024 edition of Dream Concert World in Japan boasted a glorious K-pop lineup. The list of performers included SHINee’s Onew, NEXZ, NewJeans, DAY6, NCT Wish, TWS, KISS OF LIFE, tripleS, EPEX, and BADVILLAIN.
Dream Concert World in Japan 2024 postponed
According to Japanese organizers, the Dream Concert World concert will not be held on August 10 and 11. Japan is currently facing a severe heat wave, and the authorities have also noted a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
So the organizers stated, “The Japanese government has been actively issuing heatstroke warnings, and the situation isn’t suitable for a large audience to gather in one place, so we decided to postpone the concert.”
The organizers have assured the fans that the dates will change and Dream Concert Japan will happen later. They noted, “We are currently discussing when to hold the postponed concert with the Japanese producers.”
Meanwhile, the 2024 edition of Dream Concert World is special for several reasons. The original concept of ‘Dream Concert World in Japan’ was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of normalizing diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan. It is also the 30th anniversary of the Dream Concert.
On the other hand, multiple K-pop artists will hold their world tour concerts in Japan this month. HYBE’s boy group TXT (Tomorrow X Together) has two dates in August for their ongoing world tour, including August 4 and 5 at Aichi’s Vantelin Dome Nagoya.
Later, on August 10 and 11, NCT Doyoung will perform at Aichi’s Nagoya Congress Center Century Hall. Another popular SM Entertainment group, Aespa, is scheduled to perform at the Tokyo Dome on August 17 and 18.
With the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases, concert organizers might impose strict rules regarding wearing masks and maintaining distance for upcoming K-pop concerts.
