Raayan box office collection day 1: How much did Dhanush’s movie earn?

The latest figures from Sacnilk indicate that Raayan has accumulated around $1.3 million in India’s net collection on its opening day. However, it is essential to note that these numbers are based on early estimates and might change over time.

Specifically, on Friday, July 26, 2024, the film had an overall occupancy rate of 51.53% in the Tamil belt, 23.75% in the Telugu belt, and 6.44% in the Hindi belt. As for advance bookings, Raayan sold 272,071 tickets, earning approximately $463,531.

Directed by the actor himself, Dhanush’s Raayan was initially released under the tentative title D50, marking his 50th film. Moreover, it features Prakash Raj, Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, S. J. Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, and Dushara Vijayan in pivotal roles. Reportedly, the film is made on a budget of $10.7 million under the Sun Pictures banner. The story follows Kathavaraayan, who works in a hotel in North Chennai and seeks revenge on the gangs that ruined his family.

Furthermore, the film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. This indicates that Raayan contains violence, explicit scenes, and abusive language. While the film is currently running in theaters, recent reports confirmed that Sun NXT has acquired Rayan streaming rights.

As Raayan has just begun its theatrical run, it will be intriguing to see how much the film will earn by the end of the week. Stay tuned for more updates!
