Amazon Prime Video‘s new TV and movie releases for July 29-August 4 2024 include the films Challengers and Lisa Frankenstein.
On July 29, Amazon Prime Video subscribers can check out Challengers. Challengers is a romance sports-drama movie directed by Luca Guadagnino, known for movies like Call Me by Your Name and Suspiria. The movie’s story follows Tashi Donaldson, a tennis coach and former player who trains her husband Art to become a world-famous Grand Slam champion. Tashi, witnessing Art’s losing streak has him sign up for the “Challengers” event, which is close to a pro Tennis tournament. Art soon faces his former best friend and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend in the tournament.
Then on July 30, Lisa Frankenstein drops on Amazon Prime Video. Lisa Frankenstein is a romantic horror comedy following a teenager who falls in love with a handsome corpse. After bringing the corpse to life, she soon goes on multiple adventures with him. The two then deal with all sorts of comedically horrific situations.
Finally. on August 1, Batman: Caped Crusader arrives on Amazon Prime Video. This animated series is created by Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm, and J,J. Abrams. The series is a darker version of Timm’s iconic 90s Batman: The Animated Series. Starring Hamish Linklater as the voice of Batman, the series is set during the character’s early years of battling organized crime and supervillains.
Also releasing on Amazon Prime Video this week is Five Feet Apart.
Five Feet Apart is a romantic drama movie starring Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse. The story follows Stella, a young girl with cystic fibrosis who spends much of her time in the hospital and engages in a rigorous routine with a list of rules. Stella’s unwillingness to bend rules is tested when she slowly falls in love with Will, a young man with the same illness, who unlike Stella is a rulebreaker with an unwillingness to let his disease dictate his life.
