In this article, we will explore more about what did Keanu Reeves said about death during his book launch.

What thoughts did Keanu Reeves share about death during his book launch?

In a recent BBC interview, Keanu Reeves opened up about his reflections on life and mortality while promoting his new book, The Book of Elsewhere. The actor has co-written this book with the acclaimed British sci-fi author China Miéville.

Reeves admitted that thoughts of death frequently cross his mind. He said, “I’m 59, so I’m thinking about death all the time.” However, he sees this awareness as a positive force. The actor added, “Hopefully it’s not crippling, but hopefully it’s sensitized [us] to an appreciation of the breath we have, and the relationships that we have the potential to have.”

Discussing the collaborative process, the John Wick star humbly noted that he didn’t write the novel, crediting the entire effort to Miéville. Miéville countered this and said, “It wouldn’t exist in the form without a lot of very thoughtful and careful work with Keanu.” When asked about his transition to novel writing, Reeves shared, “It’s another version of storytelling, which I love.”

Reeves also revealed that the creative process was deeply personal, bringing up reflections on life, mortality, and childhood experiences. The Book of Elsewhere draws from his successful BRZRKR comic book series. It focuses on an immortal warrior named Unute, or B, an 80,000-year-old warrior with immense strength who seeks a way to finally find peace.
