The latest figures from Sacnilk indicate that Bad Newz has accumulated around $821,784 in India’s net collection on its opening day. However, these numbers are based on early estimates and may change by the end of the day.

Moreover, on Friday, July 19, 2024, the film had an overall occupancy rate of 18.05% in the Hindi belt. Region-wise, Chennai recorded the highest occupancy at 49%, while Ahmedabad had the lowest at 12%. In terms of advance bookings, Bad Newz sold 48,362 tickets and earned around $160,170.

For those unaware, Bad Newz shares a similar core concept with the 2019 film Good Newz. While Good Newz was praised by audiences, Bad Newz has failed to garner the same positive response. Fans have expressed disappointment with the film’s storyline, performances, and humor.

One netizen shared his dissatisfaction and wrote, “Bad Newz is just trying to copy the previous movie Good Newz with a new packaging of Heteropaternal Superfecundation. I laughed at some jokes, but most were just lame. 1st half: Entertaining. 2nd half: Wasting Time. Overall #BadNewzReview is actually PATHETICALLY A WASTE OF TIME.”

Directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz also stars Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk in lead roles. The story revolves around the rare condition of heteropaternal superfecundation, where twin children are born from the same mother but have different biological fathers. This leads to an amusing complication among the trio.

As of now, Bad Newz is currently running in theaters.
