Here is everything you might want to want to know about the ending of Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode 5.
What happens at the end of Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode 5?
Miyagi-Do can only take six students to Barcelona to participate in the Sekai Taikai. Initially, they are Miguel, Sam, Robby, Tory, Demetri, and Devon. However, Tory, who is also in the running to be the captain of the team, leaves the dojo after Daniel refuses to let her fight Sam. Tory had just lost her mother to a disease the latter had been battling. Notably, Daniel thought she was in no condition to compete for the captaincy.
Tory’s departure also impacts Daniel and Johnny’s already strained relationship. This is because the latter announces he will part ways from the dojo after the Sekai Taikai is done. Eventually, Hawk replaces Tory in the team, and Sam and Robby are named captains. When Daniel sees the symbols on the official Sekai Taikai captain headbands, he rushes back into the dojo. He finds a similar headband, albeit stained with blood, and realizes that his late Sensei fought in the Sekai Taikai.
Why does Tory Nichols join John Kreese’s Cobra Kai in Season 6 Part 1 Episode 5?
After Miyagi-Do reaches Barcelona, they are shocked to find Cobra Kai there, led by Kreese, Kim Da-Eun, and Tory. Throughout the season, Daniel and Johnny thought that Cobra Kai was gone for good, but that’s clearly not the case. Moreover, Tory has switched sides and returned to Kreese’s tutelage.
According to Today, one reason for this is likely that Tory feels slighted after Daniel refuses to let her fight Sam and claim the captaincy. His reasons for doing so might have been noble. However, an action driven by noble intentions wasn’t something Tory needed at the time. She needed to let out her grief in the best way she knew how to: through fighting.
Additionally, going back to Cobra Kai is likely the only option Tory has. Unlike others in the group, she has little prospect for the future, and there is a sense of familiarity with Kreese.
