For those unaware, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, a Tamil-Indian actor, played the role of Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD. The actor confirmed his role on his official Instagram account, expressing his honor to be a part of such an epic film. Krishnakumar debuted in 2010 with the film Kadhalagi and has also appeared in Putham Pudhu Kaalai and Maaran. Additionally, Tamil actor Arjun Das lent his voice to Krishna’s character, adding depth and resonance to the portrayal.
Will Lord Krishna be a major part of Kalki 2898 AD part 2?
In a recent interview with ETimes, director Nag Ashwin revealed the reasoning behind not disclosing Lord Krishna’s face in Kalki 2898 AD. He explained, “There was one thing I was very sure of right from the start, that we shouldn’t have something identifiable or an actor or a defining feature of Krishna, because we are saying that he’s God, and we thought the mystery would work if we don’t see that person.”
There are also rumors that actor Nani will play Lord Krishna in the upcoming sequel. However, the director debunked this rumor, stating, “It goes against the idea of an avatar or God, as you would expect that person to be born again.”
As of now, Nag Ashwin is not planning to cast anyone in the role of Lord Krishna for the sequel. This leaves fans intrigued about how the makers will continue the storyline in Kalki 2. Stay tuned for more updates!
