Despite slow character development in the previous two seasons, Sharad Shukla’s character took a significant leap in Season 3, earning praise from the audience. However, in the cliffhanger ending, Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) shoots Sharad Shukla, ultimately leading to his death. This cliffhanger ending left many fans feeling that Sharad’s death was unjustified after his extensive character development.
In a recent interview with India Today, Anjumm Shharma discussed his character in Mirzapur and defended the ending as justified. He said, “I knew about the end of my character. I knew this is how Sharad had to exit, and I think it’s well justified. Mirzapur is known for its drama and the way it shocks you. The way this character was developed, it was a classic ending.”
He further added, “I don’t think it was unfair. It was the biggest dramatic part of Season 3. See, I knew this was going to happen, but our goal was to make the audience feel bad for him when it happened [Sharad’s death].”
