The Boyfriend Netflix Episodes 4-6: Are there any couples?
This week’s episodes 4 to 6 of The Boyfriend saw many other connections form as the cast spent more time with each other.
Dai and Shun
After their date the previous week, Shun contemplated on his connection with Dai. He realized that the two had completely different energies. He began to ignore Dai, which frustrated the latter. Eventually, the two sat down for a conversation when Shun expressed his desire to remain friends with Dai.
However, the following days documented a change in Shun’s nature. He invited Dai to be with him but established his boundaries. This only made their connection more tedious for Dai. Eventually, with the arrival of new cast member, Ikuo, who formed a connection with Dai, Shun grew worried about his relationship, making him angry at the two’s growing bond by the end of the episodes.
Kazuto and Alan
The Boyfriend introduced Alan by the end of last week’s episode. He hadn’t met Kazuto, who had been frequently out due to his work. However, when Kazuto arrived, Alan fell in love at first sight. Meanwhile, Kazuto also expressed his crush on Alan. As the two spoke, sparks flew, even more so when Alan openly expressed his liking for Kazuto.
The two grew closer over time and chose each other for a sleepover date. However, Alan’s expressive gestures felt too strong for Kazuto, who only grew more confused about their connection after the date. By the end of the episode, Kazuto revealed that after their date, he began to see Alan as more of a friend than a partner.
Usak and Kazuto
Usak fell very out of place from the beginning of his journey on the Netflix show, The Boyfriend. He addressed his concerns about mixing with the group. Later on, he revealed having feelings for Kazuto. Usak finally told the latter about his feelings, which surprised him.
Kazuto felt he was way out of Usak’s league, which was why he was caught off-guard. He wanted to get to know Usak as well. But as time passed, Usak’s inner conflict grew. Eventually, he decided to leave the house and went for one last coffee truck outing with Kazuto. During this time, he confessed his feelings for the latter and announced his departure.
Ryota and Kazuto
Ryota was initially attracted to Shun. However, after witnessing the latter’s connection with Dai, he failed to envision a romantic relationship with him. He then began to have feelings for Kazuto and with time confessed his feelings. Kazuto began feeling overwhelmed and after his date with Alan, he hinted at Ryota to slow down.
Meanwhile, the latter had sent a message to Kazuto during the date. Ryota only realized his feelings for Kazuto after Alan made an open revelation about his feelings. He spent time with him only to find his feelings grow with time.
Gensei and Ryota
Using Usak’s advice, Gensei decided to confess his feelings for Ryota. The following day, he volunteered to run the truck with the latter. After their business day ended, Gensei gifted a necklace to Ryota, but the latter remained unclear about his feelings. Although he tried hard to spend time with his crush, the latter clarified that he had feelings for Kazuto. However, he still wore the necklace, which left their status unclear.
Dai and Ikuo
Ikuo, 22, arrived as the final cast member on The Boyfriend. He quickly established that he had a crush on Dai through his actions during the cast’s picnic. The latter also liked him and the two spent time with each other. Although Dai still had feelings for Shun, he grew frustrated over the latter’s swayed decisions, leading his attention to shift to Ikuo. By the end of this week’s episodes, Ikuo and Dai spent more time on the picnic, leaving a frustrated Shun alone.
