Kakuda ending spoilers

At the conclusion of the movie Kakuda, Indira’s husband, Sunny, grapples with the aftermath of his encounter with Kakuda. Meanwhile, Victor Jacobs, Indira, Gomati, and Kilvish united to vanquish Kakuda’s vengeful spirit. According to the plan, Gomati tried to distract Kakuda while Victor attempted to cut Kakuda’s feet from behind. However, just as Victor was about to strike, Sunny unexpectedly entered the house.

Upon realizing Victor’s intentions, Kakuda’s spirit entered Gomati’s body and tried to thwart Victor. Amidst all the chaos, Kakuda became distracted, allowing Victor to cut Kakuda’s feet. Subsequently, Kakuda ultimately dissolved in the air, as its spirit was vanquished. With the task completed, Victor departed from the village.

What happened to Sunny?

The film opened in Kakuda village, where the spirit of Kakuda haunted the residents. Locals believed that every Tuesday at 7:15 PM (IST), Kakuda’s soul roamed the village. To honor this spirit, they kept their house doors open, with a special small door dedicated solely to Kakuda’s passage. Surprisingly, Kakuda only targeted those males who failed to open this small door. Anyone who failed to do so faced Kakuda’s wrath, resulting in a hunched back and death within 13 days.

On the other hand, Sunny, from the same village, prepared to marry Indira, the daughter of Master Ji. While Sunny strongly believed in Kakuda’s spirit, Indira was skeptical of such beliefs. Surprisingly, their wedding day fell on a Tuesday, the day when Sunny was supposed to open the house door for Kakuda. However, engrossed in the wedding festivities, Sunny delays his return home, which leads to an encounter with Kakuda. As a consequence, a large hunchback appeared on Sunny’s back as well.

Did Victor bring peace to Kakuda’s soul?

Following the incident, the villagers learned about Sunny’s wedding. While they waited for Sunny to complete his 13 days, Indira took him to a doctor in Delhi for treatment. The doctor removed the hunchback through minor surgery, but the next day, a new one appeared in the same place. During the treatment, Indira met Victor, an expert in catching ghosts. Sunny and Indira returned to the village, disappointing the villagers again upon seeing Sunny’s condition.

Subsequently, the story introduced Indira’s sister, Gomti, who was Indira’s companion. Due to Gomti’s habit of walking at night, she locked herself inside her room upon returning. After learning about his ghost-catching skills, Indira called Victor to the village to catch Kakuda. As Victor investigated, the truth about Kakuda’s identity unfolded.

Kakuda, originally known as Gullak, had arrived in the village years ago as a circus performer with the unique ability to heal by touch, earning the admiration of the villagers. He settled in Ratodi village.

Before Gullak’s arrival, Guggu Pehlwaan was known for healing people’s pain. Risked by Gullak’s abilities, Guggu falsely accused Gullak of having an affair with Ganga, leading to a violent altercation where Gullak was severely beaten and left to die in the fields. Abandoned by the villagers, Gullak’s spirit returned as Kakuda to exact revenge.

In the end, Victor and his team managed to vanquish Kakuda, freeing the villagers from its spirit. However, in a post-credit scene, there was a hint of Kakuda’s potential return, teasing a sequel and leaving the audience curious about the next installment.

Kakuda is currently available to stream on Zee5.
