Viewers are eager to learn more about Reid Wilson whose performance during the America’s Got Talent auditions impressed everyone. He sang Lesley Gore’s popular song, “You Don’t Own Me,” which was placed second on the Billboard Hot 100 on its release. Upon his arrival on stage, the young boy was extremely nervous, yet, he gave his best and won everyone’s heart. Now, fans are excited to know whether AGT’s Wilson earned a Golden Buzzer or not. Here is all the information about the same.

Who is America’s Got Talent Season 19 Episode 6’s singer, Reid Wilson?

Reid Wilson is a 14-year-old singer hailing from Alabama, who appeared on America’s Got Talent Season 19 Episode 6.

Wilson is the middle child in the family and developed an interest in singing at a young age. He claims to be a self-taught singer who used to practice his craft, singing at the top of his voice at his home when he was little. However, in recent years, he has been trying to showcase his vocal talent more in front of crowds. Wilson revealed to the judges that music is his dream and he is constantly improving it. He said, “I have been kind of working on it a lot more and singing in front of people more and just pursuing it because it is definitely my dream.”

According to Talent Recap, the young boy earned attention way before he entered America’s Got Talent. He has a TikTok account, where he posts his singing videos. In 2023, one of his videos, in which he sang “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin, took the internet by storm. America’s Got Talent reportedly marks his second appearance on TV, as he has appeared in American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson’s talk show before.

Did You Don’t Own Me singer Reid Wilson get the Golden Buzzer on AGT?

Yes, Howie Mandel hit the Golden Buzzer after Wilson’s “You Don’t Own Me” performance. Notably, this was Mandel’s final buzzer this season.

Check out Wilson’s AGT performance here:

The Golden Buzzer is a unique feature on America’s Got Talent that enables the judges to send contestants who impress them with their performances, directly into live shows. However, the buzzer can be used in a limited capacity. Judges could only use it once in past AGT seasons. However, this season tweaked the rules a bit. In Season 19, each judge is entitled to press the buzzer twice, instead of once. This means every judge can send two acts to live shows. Every time a golden buzzer is hit, golden confetti showers on the contestant on stage.
