Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is an action and dark fantasy series illustrated and written by Yuji Kaku. Shueisha began serializing the manga in January 2018 on their Shonen Jump Plus website and app. Meanwhile, Viz Media is in charge of the English licensing. The series has a total of 127 chapters, compiled into 13 volumes.

The first season of the anime premiered in 2023. MAPPA produces the anime adaptation. A second season has been confirmed but there are no details available so far. You can watch the anime’s Season 1 on Crunchyroll and Netflix in the U.S.

Kaori Makita (Kakegurui twin, DAYS) directed the first season. Akira Kindaichi (Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari, takt op. Destiny) handled the series composition. Akitsugu Hisagi (Yuri!!! on Ice, Banana Fish) did the character designs, while Yoshiaki Dewa (Tawawa on Monday, Flying Witch) composed the music. As mentioned, there are no details as of writing about the staff for the second season.

“Gabimaru reigns as the strongest and most ruthless assassin in his village. But now finds himself on death row—with only one way out: retrieve the Elixir of Life from a sinister island.
